Spokes and Service Ride - Pope Francis Center

Hi Everybody!!!

I hope you all are starting to enjoy the warmer weather and getting out on your bikes! I wanted to share a new ride I’m launching and invite you to join for the first one on Saturday, April 11.

I’m partnering with Repair the World, an organization that connects people to meaningful volunteer opportunities in their communities. Together, we’re starting a monthly ride series called Spokes and Service. Each ride will start and end at The Ferndale Project and head into Detroit, stopping at a local nonprofit partner. The goal is to create a consistent way to learn about and support organizations doing important work across the city.

We’ll also incorporate a simple way to give back on each ride. If you’re able, please bring non-perishable food items. I’ll collect everything and drop it off at a community fridge after the ride.

Our first stop will be the Pope Francis Center. The Center serves individuals experiencing homelessness in Detroit, offering daily meals, medical and behavioral health services, housing support, and long-term programs designed to help people move toward stability.

A few quick ride details:

  • No-drop ride

  • Pace: 11–14 mph

  • Route: coming soon

If you’re interested in joining, please let me know so I can gauge how many people are coming. I’d love to have you there.

Thanks,
Mitch
