Mitch Barnett is the founder of the Urban Hockey Foundation. UHF’s mission is to help grow the game of hockey and make it accessible to people in lower-income areas. Currently, in partnership with Clark Park in SW Detroit, the UHF helps to provide equipment and ice time to kids in SW Detroit at no cost.

Catherine Galdes - Bethany Anne Galdes Foundation

Catheine Galdes is the founder of The Bethany Anne Galdes Foundation. Our mission is to raise awareness about depression as a life-threatening disease, educate communities about evidence based treatments for depression and open a crisis center for young people at risk of dying by suicide. We are determined to reverse the rising rate of suicide.

Ron Sollish is a Board Member and Mitch Barnett is the Director of Marketing and Communications at Starfish Family Services. Starfish Family Services provides integrated, high-quality programs and support services that build on the strengths and assets of families and a focus on early childhood education, empowering parents and caregivers and wellness and behavioral health for children, youth and adults. Programs and services offered by Starfish are high-quality, research-based, and evidence-supported. By focusing on the best practices in the field Starfish aims to achieve three key outcomes: healthy families, successful students, and empowered families. Starfish currently operates 18 centers across Wayne County, employing over 450 staff—a dedicated group that includes teachers, social workers, therapists, nurses, psychiatrists, nutritionists and administrators. Starfish impacts over 4,000 children, youth and families annually.
