The Inspiration:
In 2010 Make-A-Wish Michigan raised enough money to grant an amazing 365 wishes! Always looking for fun ways to motivate his teammates and happy to find another excuse to donate to Make A Wish, Jeff Surnow decided to use this number to set a fitness goal for all of Team Alex. In 2011 the 365 Team Alex Hundo Challenge was launched. For four years riders earned bonus donations towards their individual fundraising pages, courtesy of Jeff. Last year we logged in a very respectable 184 Hundos with a payout of $3380 to Make A Wish. From 2011-2014 Jeff donated a over $16,000 in Hundo cash. We never did reach 365 on Jeff's watch. The goal in 2015 is still 365 Hundos so, what are you waiting for?
The Execution:
As in past years, you should still log your Hundos by clicking on the "Submit Your Hundo" button below. On most Mondays Scott Tuller will update the Hundo-ometer to reflect our progress. But wait, there is more. With each Hundo you complete, feel free to head over to Jeff Surnow Memorial Hundo Page to make a donation. Our friend Jeff taught us a lot about generosity and giving. Now let's show him that we can ride and we can give back too (even if we don't do it the way he did).
The Price Tag:
Hundos fall into two categories: those that are completed between sun-up and sundown on the same day, and those that are completed within a 24-hour period. The suggested donation for a sun-up to sun-down Hundo is $20, while a 24-hour hundo gives you the chance to pay $10. Scholarship available. Confidentiality respected.
